Fishing trip for salmon is a fishing holiday that offers an enchanting salmon fishing in the Chilliwack, Vedder and Stave rivers. Danish tour guide with many years of experience in fishing follows the entire trip and does his best to get us fishing in the right places and with the best methods. Chilliwack river is world famous for its terrific rise of particularly large king salmon and Silver salmon in September and lots of dog salmon in October
We live 20 meters from the Chilliwack river and there is really good fishing just below the house and we have it all to ourselves.
It is Salmon fishing at its best time
There are still fresh King Salmon and Silver Salmon and the first Chum salmon are beginning to enter the river. The fishing for king salmon in Fraser and Chilliwack is without comparison, the fish are typically between 7-14 kg, but there are also true monsters in between, the largest fish on our trips measured 121 cm and weighed an impressive 26 kg!
The king salmon possesses an unprecedented strength and is at the same time a master at exploiting the powerful currents of the river. If you have only once experienced the cash slash and the powerful head shake, and then have your wheel emptied while you can just stare wide open, you will simply have to try again – this is highly addictive fishing.
You can fish with egg imitations, spin and fly – you decide what you want.
Although we have fished the rivers well and thoroughly and know many spots, the rivers and fishing are constantly changing. That’s why we work closely with the best Canadian guides. We can not stress enough that the best guides are the key to success. They know the rivers as their own pocket, and they constantly adjust the fishing to the conditions. Besides knowing the river inside and out, they are also flexible and they do everything they can to get you fish. Fishing pressure on the river is great and you need to be mindful that there are many fishermen on the river at the best spots. That does not mean we have to stand shoulder to shoulder. There are many other great spots where you have the fishing water more to yourself when you are set to go a little further after it.
Large fishing in Fraser is world class, few places in the world have a greater opportunity to catch a freshwater fish that is bigger than yourself! The fishing takes place from our Canadian guides’ fully equipped jet boats. We only go for the spots where the size of the sturgeon starts at 170 cm and often reaches 300 cm. Who knows, maybe it’s you who puts the hook in one of the big ones! Sturgeon at 300 – 400 pounds is not a rarity!
NB: If you want guided tours for sturgeon, it is important to tell us well in advance. Then we can secure the best guides.
It is always possible to book guided fishing trips on the Fraser and Harrison rivers for the iconic white sturgeon or the salmon species that are in the river at any given time. All fishing takes place from the guide’s top professional jet boat, which of course is equipped with everything you could want from gear and electronics. Sturgeon was used for sturgeon, typically from an anchored boat, but in the case of very large fish, the last part of the fight will typically take place from land. You fish with four rods and you typically take turns to take the chops. All equipment is provided by the guides. If you want to catch salmon on the fly, we sail to the shore, an island or sandbank in the river and we fish from land. If you want to use your own fishing equipment, you are welcome to do so.
On weekends, many locals seek out the fishing waters, so we recommend that you book our guides for trips on the Fraser and Harrison rivers.
